The Theory Group of the Department
of Particle Physics of the University
of Santiago, one of the nodes of the TMR
European Network ``Integrability, non-perturbative effects, and symmetry
in quantum field theory" , organizes the first Network Conference.
The meeting will take place at Santiago de Compostela, a historic pleasant
town in the northwest of Spain, close to the coast, with very good airport
C. Gomez (CSIC, Madrid), J.M.F Labastida, J. Mas, J.L. Miramontes, A.V. Ramallo and J. Sanchez Guillen (Santiago de Compostela)
A town with plenty of Art and History. Rather than a Museum (there are in fact many) the town is very lively at any hour of day or night (open markets, dozens of pubs of all kinds, galleries, parks, terraces,...) and most of it at walking distance. The weather is mild (15-25 C), but it can be rainy, even heavily so.
Look for locals or people with a sign TMR. If you don't see any, take a taxi to Residencia Monte de la Condesa (2000 pts=13 $) and ask for a receipt (receebo or ticket). There you will have the folder and meet locals. Emergency phones: (34) 9(81) 819185 and (34) 9(81) 599154.
As you will see in the amplified map, Residencia Monte Condesa is in the same building as the School of Optics (talks), next corner to the right of the Reception door, and the Residence Restaurant, again next corner to the right down the stairs. The talks will be at the main auditorium of Optics, first room to the left of the entrance (just in front of big "eye model"). The Physics building is in front, so everything is at hand.
The cafeteria and restaurant is closed on Sunday, so the Meeting starts with dinner served at 9 p.m. at Restaurante Don Quijote, 5-10 min. straight walk as indicated in the big map. I will be at the reception in time to walk with you.
Breakfast, selfservice, will be waiting for us at the Residence Restaurant from 8-10. There will also be coffee breaks at 11.35.
Monday 15 there will be a Reception by the Rector of the University at 1.15 p.m. followed by a Spanish wine, which means many ``tapas'' that should do for lunch. Dinner will be served for us at 8.30 p.m. at the Residence Restaurant in reserved tables.
Tuesday 16, Thursday 18 and Friday 19 lunch will be served at the same place at 1.30 p.m. Those 3 evenings you can use the selfservice of the Residence Restaurant for dinner from 8 to 10.30 p.m. (no charge, just tell us the day after), or have your choice in town (at your own expenses).
Wednesday 17 there will be a Reception at the Town Hall at 1.30 p.m., again with a Spanish wine, which you can extend on your own until 3 p.m. when we will start from the Residencia to La Coru\~na, where we will have dinner at the end of the excursion.
You will have one account at the computer of the Institute, fpaxp1.usc.es, namely tmr, pass tmr.97 and a few computers just for you, but basically just for telnet at the Residence building, with same names.
We have reserved a seminar room for discussions at the Institute after the talks.
I wish you will enjoy the Meeting and it serves for the Network purposes.
